Casting wheels can mainly be divided into the following types:
1. Gravity casting
Gravity casting is the process of using the earth's gravity to inject metal liquid into the mold. This method includes sand casting, metal casting, investment casting, lost mold casting and mud mold casting, among which metal mold casting is gravity casting in a narrow sense. The gravity casting process is relatively simple, but the internal structure and properties of the casting may be limited.
2. Low pressure casting
Low pressure casting is a casting method that makes the metal liquid rise to fill the mold and control solidification at a low pressure (usually in the range of 0.06~0.15MPa) in the molten state. This casting method has the advantages of good filling, dense casting structure, easy casting of large, thin-walled and complex castings, high metal recovery rate, no pollution, and easy automation. However, the equipment cost is high and the production efficiency is relatively low.
3. Extrusion casting (liquid die forging)
Extrusion casting, also known as liquid die forging, is to pour a certain amount of metal liquid directly into the open metal mold, and act on the liquid metal with a certain pressure through the punch, so that it is filled, formed and crystallized, and produce a certain amount of plastic deformation in the crystallization process. The extrusion casting mold filling is stable, the casting does not produce porosity, shrinkage and porosity casting defects, the eye structure is dense, the grain is fine, and the mechanical properties are high. But liquid die forging products need milling processing to complete the shape of the spoke.
4. Casting forging method
Casting forging method is to use the casting as the bad material of the forging process, plastic processing, this process combines the advantages of casting and forging, can eliminate casting defects, improve the organization structure of the product, improve the mechanical properties of the product. At the same time, it can also reduce the forging process of products with complex shapes, improve the material utilization rate and reduce the production cost.
5. Casting and spinning
Casting spinning is based on the casting process to spin the wool to improve its density and strength. This method is usually used to produce auto parts such as aluminum alloy wheels that require higher strength and lightness. Cast spinning wheels generally have higher strength and better performance than conventional cast wheels.
